Digital-Energy Nexus an Atlantic Convergence Initiative
The Digital-Energy Nexus is an initiative of Atlantic Convergence that brings together leaders from the digital and energy sectors across the four Atlantic continents. Through a series of expert discussions, the Working Group explores how the growing interdependence between digital infrastructure and energy systems can drive innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth.
Key topics include data-center energy demand, renewable energy integration, cybersecurity, digital connectivity, and governance frameworks that strengthen cooperation across Atlantic economies.
This initiative is supported by the Johns Hopkins SAIS Foreign Policy Institute, the Transatlantic Leadership Network, and the Atlantic Centre.
First-Year Results (2026)
In its first year, the Working Group convened policymakers, industry leaders, experts, and practitioners to examine the opportunities and challenges of the digital-energy nexus across the Atlantic.
The discussions resulted in a set of recommendations focused on strengthening the connection between digital and energy infrastructure, fostering public-private cooperation, and ensuring local communities benefit from new investments and innovation.
The findings were presented at Atlantic Convergence 2026.
